Nice Item but poor life span
I like this device but, unfortunately, there is a problem as its lifespan is only for two years! I have discovered this yesterday as I was reading a review from another customer on another website and they mentioned that this lovely device only last 2 years due to the fact the the internal lithium battery is not replaceable - this is a sealed unit. They even contacted the manufacturers who confirmed this. So once the 2 years are up the device will become useless. It's not cheap to buy and I feel that it should last a lot longer than 2 years! I had a similar situation with my expensive Clarisionic brush. Why can't manufacturers make rechargeable beauty devices serviceable? It's a big disappointment.
The manufacturer of the iluminage laser state the following: "The lifespan of the Skin Smoothing Laser product is up to 3 years with proper use and maintenance (following the manufacturer’s instructions for use outlined in the manual). As with any electronic product that uses a rechargeable battery, the life of the product is dependent upon proper care and usage. This is the nature of any rechargeable battery technology.” Based on using the laser twice a week, a treatment works out as £1.44 a use, over the three year lifespan of the laser. Compared with a salon treatment this is very good value indeed.
